Understanding Biofilm and Serrapeptase:
All bacteria, including those responsible for Lyme disease and other tick borne diseases, produce biofilm. Biofilm is a protective substance created by colonies bacteria to support their survival. Biofilm contributes to bacteria’s ability to resist treatment by staying hidden. Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme with a researched history of helping to break down biofilm, supporting the efficacy of anti-microbial treatments. In her book, Dr.Alexis Chesney lists Serrapeptase as a “biofilm buster.” For this reason Serrapeptase is often added to the treatment protocol for Lyme. We stock the Nutramedix brand that Dr. Chesney recommends.
